Welcome! My name is Tiffanie and I am the founder of Kelly's Kitten Corner. I have always had a strong connection with animals and being raised by a bunch of crazy cat ladies I found the thing I love most at a very early age.
When I was just 11 years old my mom had gotten me my very own kitten, she was a calico with total cattitude and I named her Kelly. Kelly the Calico.
I didn't have a lot of stability growing up, my mother was a single parent moving us across California and my father was struggling with drug addiction.
Kelly was the only real constant part of my life. She was there through everything. She was my best friend. While I was struggling with my diagnosis of anxiety and depression, she was the one thing I could look forward to, the one thing that kept me alive. When she was just 9 years old, she lost her battle to cancer and I swore I would never have a cat again...
Not even 3 weeks later my cousin called me about 5 kittens that were abandoned in a box. I was only 20 years old and had never heard of bottle feeding a kitten, but of course I had to try! I had rehomed almost all of the kittens, two were left and no one was interested in the bonded pair. My first two foster failures, Olivia and Lilly, twins that I would soon realize were gifts from Kelly.
After that, I was addicted to fostering! I was giving everything I had to abandoned kittens, all my free time went into bottle feeding, my paychecks from my part-time movie theatre job were being saved for vet bills.
I realized I had found my passion, learning and helping these tiny lives thrive while finding their forever homes.
I was soon introduced to shelter fostering and cat rescues in my area, and just about 8 years later here I am.. 28 years old, starting my own 501(c)(3) cat rescue for the girl who saved my life. Kelly's Kitten Corner.
Our non-profit foster-based rescue grants us the opportunity to provide the best possible environment for the animals in our care.
Having volunteers fostering abandoned or homeless cats and kittens allow us to see their personalities shine through to match them with a family who accepts and understands their specific qualities and needs.
We believe in TNR for unadoptable cats, allowing them to live a safer life outside. TNR stops the breeding cycle and prevents an excess amount of cats and kittens overcrowding the already drowning county shelters.
We also partner with these animal shelters, working closely to find their most at risk cats that need a break from their kennel life and a second chance at finding love.
We hope to soon be partnered up with animal feed stores across Orange County to show off our cats and kittens, giving them the best opportunity to find their perfect person.
Our end goal would be to design an open concept area to shelter our cats and kittens where they can be visited daily to increase social interaction, maximize our capacity and ensure no animal is left behind.
We are a no-kill animal rescue and with your support we can create a life worth living for one more vulnerable animal.
Your support and tax deductible contributions will help us to meet our goals and fund our mission. Without donors like you, none of this could be possible.
